transporters and haulers in the unusual variety

Just love this above track racer on the flatbed from the 20's

If any car enthusiast were to see this transporter driving by they'd have a heart attack

Looks like a 1938 COE hauling that trailer

What are those on the trailer? Nash or Hudson?

Another dealership with an unsold musclecar, this time an '87 GNX, last one was a '69 Daytona

http://articles.latimes.com/2010/dec/10/business/la-fi-autos-buick-gnx-20101211 for the GNX with 136 miles. The Los Angeles dealership bought it from GM, tried once or twice to make a killing by auctioning it off, and never succeeded. They eventually decided to keep it as an investment they can one day cash in.

http://www.hemmings.com/newsletter/newsletter.html?volume=1&issue=45 for the 1969 Charger Daytona that kept getting shifted between two dealerships but never sold from it's Virgina home... til in 2004 someone recalled they had a gold mine stuffed away in the attic of the dealership and it went to Mecum auctions. I read about it in a magazine, but can't recall much about it.

tipped to the GNX from Jalopnik

Shelby's at Escondido's cruisin Grand

I believe this year Shelby hood is unique among car makers in the number of scoops

For Tere's photos of these Shelby's, and she really nailed the c pillar Cobra emblem: http://justacargal.blogspot.com/2009/09/cruisin-grand-in-sept-09_05.html

Just in case you thought the world was making sense... I find a 1976 Charger Daytona, and Richard Petty selling it

The above ad is Richard Petty as the spokeman for the Dodge Charger Daytona... ( really? Anything no matter how beneath your dignity, for a buck?) and below, the same car, where an editor captioned it and inferred Petty would have nothing to do with it

For more on the 1977-78 Charger, see; http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/06/1977-78-van-advertising-now-that-was.html

Spring Fling, best place to find Superbirds and Daytonas

I thought it would be interesting to look at the breakdown of what the options were on a bird

There wasn't any way to photograph the above display board without all the reflections obscuring the text, but at the angle I took the photo, all you have to do is click on it for the full size version to read most of it
